are they going to be factoring in heat or is it simply a recharge rate thingy?

Theres full heat involved, everything builds up heat, using Jumpjets, running max speed or firing weapons.

So heat managment is a big factor in this

How does damage work? Are there torso sections, legs, rear torso(s), etc or is it just one overall damage guage?

In Crysis vehicles take damage to individual areas, and they said mech arms can be blowned off and mechs can be legged, so that would indicate that it is sectioned.

Thank fawk we didn't have the 2 Gauss variant in Black Knight, doing the spaceport mission might have been MUCH tougher.

Heh, I saw it and it just said "Cosmic." Reminded me of a few Brawler matchs we had. You were in a 10000000 ER Med Nova and had this habit of bitch-slapping the lights all around while mooching more kills than me.

As I recall, that variant was pretty novel when I first used it. Then folks got smart and started lopping off my arms :( Who would have thought that you could knock down a mech with ER Mediums? LBX sure...but lasers? Hehe...

Just remember - if this is actually closer to the way it should be as it looks - any mech that fires 6 ERLL, 12 ERML or 4 ERPPC will go KABOOOOM instantly no matter how many heat sinks it has lol.

The thing that makes mechs lights or mediums is more to do with armour capabilities than size I gather ...

I presume they will keep the nuke's as a mech weapon. I've seen them in the game but haven't figured out how to aquire one during play.

The eggs are "Hard boiled", so they don't make a very good spread on target. :guns

This mod will be a TOTAL CONVERSION. Which means that NOTHING about the gameplay will automatically be the same or even have any carryover. The developers have a game engine, and they're building MWLL up from there. They have to design (from scratch) all the elementals, mechs, buildings, maps, and weapons. Then they have to "put it into the game" which basically means tearing the nice models apart (which involves things like "unwrapping"), making the game recognize each part, if it moves, how it moves, and if it does anything else, and THEN testing it to make sure you didn't put the wings of an aerofighter on upside down or put the left leg of Smutty's Scat on backwards.

As a programmer, I know how intense these steps are, and as a fan of PoE2, a total conversion mod for BF2, I know how to wait patiently for a mod that will be better than the original game. At lest the multiplayer part will be better. :)

I bought a new PC and it was because of this game thats not even out yet. Mech won't work at all once I put any patches on it. I'm trying to be patient but it ain't easy.

BTW, so far ,outside of mech not working, new PC working great. I'm still getting used to graphics that look this good though.

I believe this shows some unidentified mech shooting two gauss rounds into a vulture. Note the following:

Brackets around your target.
Firing group numbers in the hud where you expect them, along with ammo indicators.
The marrying of both the picture AND bar damage displays for both yourself and your target.
Radar with range and active/inactive indicator.
Heat and coolant indicators.
Zoom indicator (new feature probably built into the engine).
Range reminders in the weapons display (new feature for the youth challenged!).
Funky compass (that big circle that surrounds the center of the HUD).

There is no release date, however some of the screenshots of late have hinted at a release in the near future. Most of the time when mod groups start releasing ingame screenies, they're finished with artwork and most of the obvious bugs. Now I could be wrong, but that's how PoE2 went. The ingame screenshots started coming (and a fawking awesome tank video) and from there it was release, add more content, patch, more content, patch, etc.

I think ther are more specific game issues they are ironing bugs out on, things like joystick control have gone from 'yes there is' to 'its being worked on' things that arn't native to Crysis but are being included from scratch

There was a post on MWL forums that MWLL would be going to beta very soon (which is a closed beta now) Rx_WaddeHaddyN0L has says rather crypitically that he 'knows' so maybe he is on the beta team?
but once it does go to beta then release is only a few months away

K, so when do we get to play.
The conspiracist's don't believe we've actually gone to the moon. That it was all a fake. That it was a promotiomal gimmick to keep the failing NASA program going, (Yes kids, back in those days people were accountable for their spending).
I think THIS has all been a promotional gimmick to keep the failing Mechwarrior game going even if only a little while longer.

After all if there were really a new game coming out, I'm sure the pilots, that REALLY CARED, (LIKE THE CHIKENS), would be playing fervently, to make sure they stay in practise. But no that isn't the case.

INSTEAD THE BLEEDIN CHICKENS CAN'T EVEN GET IT UP FOR A BLOODY FRIDAY NIGHT BRAWLER MATCH.

I my humble opinion MWL class matches must be a thing of the past, but in the dead of the night, you'll still find me prowling in the opens.

There is something going on at MW:LL behind the scenes in my opinion thats delaying things, maybe crytek are to do with it or maybe M$ themselves are involved but the day the stop updating the website with new info thats when i will worry.

Mini this is one of the things im looking forward to in MW:LL it will bring a lot of the Chikens together under one game with the troop(elementals), flying and tank/armour element as well as the mech head stuff there is something for everyone but the end result is a stronger CC kicking ass just like we should :D
